Wi-Fi Cabling

Professional Wi-Fi cabling installation in the Cayman Islands — Cat6A structured cabling for UniFi and enterprise access points, designed and configured by our preferred IT partner ICT365.

Overview

A great Wi-Fi network starts with great cabling. CSC provides professional Wi-Fi access point cabling installations across the Cayman Islands, supplying and installing the certified Cat6A structured cabling infrastructure that modern wireless systems demand. As Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points push multi-gigabit speeds, the backbone cabling connecting them must keep pace — legacy Cat5e and Cat6 installations are increasingly a bottleneck, and many now require a dual-cable upgrade to unlock the full performance of modern APs like the Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Pro Max.

CSC handles everything on the physical layer: site survey, cable routing, containment, termination, and Fluke certification. Our preferred IT services partner, ICT365, then takes care of network design, UniFi controller configuration, VLAN setup, and ongoing managed support — giving you a fully joined-up solution from the cable in the wall to the SSID on your device. Together, CSC and ICT365 deliver complete end-to-end enterprise Wi-Fi solutions for offices, schools, hotels, and warehouses across Grand Cayman.

Why Cat6A Is Now the Minimum for Wi-Fi Cabling

Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points — including the Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Pro Max — support multi-gigabit backhaul speeds. Cat5e and standard Cat6 cabling caps out at 1Gbps over typical run lengths and cannot support the 2.5G, 5G, or 10G PoE++ connections that high-performance APs require. Cat6A supports 10Gbps over 100 metres and is the correct specification for any new Wi-Fi installation today. CSC installs Cat6A as standard on all new Wi-Fi cabling projects.

Dual Cable Installations

Many enterprise access points now support or require dual data connections — one for primary backhaul and one for a dedicated management or secondary SSID link. CSC installs dual Cat6A cables to each access point location as standard on new builds, future-proofing your infrastructure for next-generation wireless technology.

Upgrading an Existing Wi-Fi Installation

Legacy cabling is often the hidden reason a Wi-Fi upgrade fails to deliver its promised performance. Before investing in new access points, CSC can audit your existing cabling and identify:

  • Cable runs that don't meet Cat6A specification for new high-performance APs
  • Access point locations that need to move to optimise coverage
  • Single-cable drops that need upgrading to dual-cable for full AP performance
  • Cabling runs that exceed 100 metres and require fibre backhaul

Wi-Fi Installation at Height

Warehouses, sports halls, and large retail spaces often require access points mounted at significant height. CSC's engineers have the access equipment and working-at-height certification to install cabling and mount access points safely at any height across the Cayman Islands — minimising downtime and disruption to your operations.
